BehaviourSafe (Reaccreditation for CYP/ACS) Theory and Physical

Requirements prior to attending reaccreditation: Staff must have completed the Theory and Physical training. Reaccreditation is reccomended every 2 years, unless Risk Assessed

This programme consists of two elements, the legal framework and the physical skills update.  It focusses on de-escalation and intervention at an early stage to reduce the need for restrictive practices. It is underpinned by clear articulation and behavioural theory, law and best practise. Each programme is consistently updated to reflect Government policies and new thinking.

Reaccreditation programme aims to:

  • Help you to identify your duties and responsibilities, as well as the options open to you, when dealing with difficult or challenging behaviour
  • Understand the meaning of reasonable force when using physical intervention
  • Revisit de-escalation strategies and proactive plans
  • Review and reaccredit physical intervention and restraint techniques

Training is tailor made to suit service sector requirements as identified through a risk assessment process. We recommend reaccreditation every two years. This is a one day course.
